Chloë Grace Moretz has come out as gay as she shares her 2024 election endorsement.
The "Miseducation of Cameron Post" star, 27, said she identifies as a gay woman in an Instagram post on Friday urging fans to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election.
"I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor," Moretz wrote. "Kamala Harris will protect that for us. I believe in the need for legal protections that protects the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman. We need protections in this country and to have access to the care we need and deserve."
Moretz, who said she voted early for Harris, also wrote that there is "so much on the line this election" and encouraged her more than 24 million followers to "get a plan together to get to your polling place with your friends."
Moretz has been linked to model Kate Harrison since 2018. The actress previously starred in the film "The Miseducation of Cameron Post" as a teenager who is sent to gay conversion therapy.

In a 2018 interview with the BBC, the "Kick-Ass" star noted she was raised in a "very Christian Baptist town" in Georgia alongside her two gay brothers, who "dealt with a lot of self-hate" when they came out.

"They tried to, which is very common within the community that we grew up in, 'pray the gay away' on their own before coming out to the family, which I was unaware of during the time," she shared.
Moretz told Net-a-Porter her brothers "were super excited" about her role as a gay teen in "Cameron Post," adding, "There were several people in our small town that apparently prayed the gay away and are now in fine relationships with their wives. So, the movie was quite close to home for a number of reasons."
Speaking at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018, Moretz also said she consulted with survivors of gay conversion therapy to prepare for her role in the film.
"They were so candid with us," she said at the time. "Thank you for giving us your story, and really telling us the darkness. And also (sharing) the moments of being able to meet other gay kids like you, where for the first time, you’re realizing you’re not alone."

Moretz rose to fame as a child actress, most notably starring as the young superhero Hit-Girl in the 2010 satire "Kick-Ass." Her other early roles included the Martin Scorsese film "Hugo" and remakes of the horror movies "Let The Right One In" and "Carrie."
The actress most recently voiced the title role in the Netflix animated film "Nimona," which was celebrated for featuring a queer central character and same-sex kiss.
