Travelers hitting the road this Memorial Day weekend can take advantage of a sweet deal from Krispy Kreme.
The doughnut giant is offering customers a dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts for $3.84 with the purchase of any dozen at regular price from Friday, May 24 through Monday, May 27, the company said in a news release Tuesday.
AAA is projecting 38.4 million people will travel by car at least 50 miles over Memorial Day weekend, hence the price. The number is the highest number for any holiday since AAA began tracking in 2000, according to the news release from Krispy Kreme.
The deal is available at participating shops with a limit of two dozen per customer in-shop and a limit of one when ordering online for pickup for delivery via Krispy Kreme's app or website. Customers can redeem the offer online using promo code ROADTRIP.
“38.4 million people may be on the road this holiday weekend. We’ve got a great deal for every one of them that will make those road trip memories happier and more delicious,” said Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme.

In addition to the Memorial Day deal, Krispy Kreme has teamed up with Dolly Parton to give customers a little something sweet to pair with their cup of ambition.
The company unveiled the "Dolly Southern Sweets Doughnut Collection" earlier this month, with the doughnuts being available for a limited time.
The collection, which also features a limited-edition custom Dolly Parton dozens box, features four all-new doughnuts, including:
- Dolly Dazzler Doughnut: An Original Glazed doughnut dipped in strawberry icing, with gold, pink and white glitter sprinkles and a signature chocolate Dolly butterfly piece
- Peachy Keen Cobbler Doughnut: An unglazed doughnut filled with real peach filling, dipped in brown sugar icing and crunchy cobbler topping
- Banana Puddin' Pie: An unglazed doughnut filled with banana pudding made with wafers and banana pudding cream, dipped in yellow icing, with white icing swirls and a wafer cookie
- Chocolate Créme Pie: An Original Glazed doughnut topped with a swirl of chocolate brownie cream and vanilla whipped topping, sprinkled with chocolate cookie crumble
“Having some of my very favorite southern flavors in one, unique doughnut collection from Krispy Kreme is so special to me,” Parton said in a news release. “These doughnuts remind me of home. So, I’m excited for folks to share them with their own family and friends. They’re pretty sweet, if I do say so myself!”
“Krispy Kreme and Dolly Parton have a special thing in common – we both love to share joy!” said Dave Skena, global chief brand Officer for Krispy Kreme, in the news release.
“It was a joy – and an honor – to collaborate with Dolly to create her signature doughnut collection. These doughnuts are going to dazzle and delight fans just like Dolly herself,” Skena said in the release.
